Georgia Center of Innovation announces speakers & topics for 2023 Georgia Logistics Summit
Created in 2009 as an event to bring together all aspects of the logistics industry for lunch, the Georgia Logistics Summit has grown to become one of the Southeast’s most important logistics and supply chain-focused events. Each year, the Summit has brought together speakers from prominent shippers in the industry, leaders in the state’s infrastructure and economic development community, as well as keynote speakers from some of the world’s most prominent supply chain-focused companies. Join us in 2023 for the Georgia Logistics Summit in Savannah!
Will explore the intersection of economy, technology, ports
The Georgia Center of Innovation’s logistics team has announced keynote speakers and topics for the 2023 Georgia Logistics Summit to be held in Savannah on March 8, 2023, at the Savannah Convention Center. The event will explore the intersection of the economy, technology, and growth of Georgia’s ports in an industry that touches every facet of commerce.
“Year after year, we hear positive feedback from companies that attend the Summit about the value of the information presented and contacts they make at the event. The Georgia Logistics Summit was the first of its kind held by a state, and for more than a decade, we have prided ourselves on ensuring timely information and insights that give companies what they need to map out the future,” said the Georgia Center of Innovation Logistics Director Sandy Lake. “We look forward to seeing familiar faces and making new connections for this rapidly growing industry, whose work has been in the spotlight over the last several years and will only increase in an on-demand world.”
2023 Georgia Logistics Summit attendees will hear directly from Georgia Ports Authority leadership about the ports’ preparations for the next five years and its projections for the future. Coordination and a more thorough understanding of ports’ operations will allow companies to better respond and prepare, also aiding in the efficiency of cargo movement. Timely insights will help participants make their own plans to keep cargo moving efficiently.
A broad economic outlook for the logistics industry will include an overview from the global, national, and state levels. Further, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from private-sector perspectives on the latest supply-chain visibility tools and platforms that will address both short- and long-term technology needs for the industry. Topics for discussion on the logistics workforce will range from wage pressure to demographics and attitudes, to the future of work, as well as the role of robotics. Information on real estate trends in the region will also be covered during the day.
Speakers and panelists include:
Griff Lynch – Executive Director, Georgia Ports Authority
Chris Gaffney – Principal, ECG Consulting, and retired VP Global Strategic Supply Chain for The Coca-Cola Company
Rick McDonald – Senior VP, Chief Supply Chain Officer, The Clorox Company
Paul Bingham – Economist, S&P Global Market Intelligence
Jannine Miller – Director of Planning, Georgia Department of Transportation
As the third-busiest and fastest-growing gateway in the nation, Savannah was selected as the location for this premier event for the logistics industry.
