Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam

2nd Port Development South East Asia Summit 2023

Envisioned to be a leading forum for the ASEAN port & shipping community to connect, network, share and debate, the 2nd Port Development South East Asia Summit 2023 (PDSEAS 2023) will be taking place on 14–15 September, 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam!

It’s well acknowledged that a modern and well managed port sector is crucial to South East Asia’s economic progress and to expanding global trading routes. Major ports in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Myanmar are currently planning to expanding, upgrading or building new port facilities.

When it comes to Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh signed Decision 1579/QD-TTg in Sep. 2021, approving the master plan on development of Vietnam's seaport system in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision towards 2050. Vietnam will need 312.6 trillion VND ($13.3 billion) to develop a seaport system by 2030, according to the transport ministry, which recently said 78 per cent of that capital would be reserved for developing ports and the rest for public maritime infrastructure. By 2024, the focus would be on upgrading Cai Mep-Thi Vai navigational channel to enable it to serve ships of up to 18,000 TEU, and upgrading channels for large ships to enter Hau, Van Uc and Chanh rivers.

Based on the success of the inaugural event in 2019, PDSEAS 2023 will attract 30+ industry thought leaders and 200+ senior executives to join this show and discuss the whole industry in the post pandemic era.

Join this event to learn the state of the South East Asia ports and shipping industry, share regional and global trends, and showcase innovations and best practices towards smart green ports of the future. PDSEAS 2023 is unmissable!
