The Alliance for Aviation Across America today expressed its strong support for the launch of the bipartisan Senate Sustainable Aviation Caucus, a significant step toward advancing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other innovations in sustainable aviation. The Senate caucus was founded by Senators Jerry Moran (R-KS), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), John Boozman (R-AR), and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN).

“We commend Senators Moran, Duckworth, Boozman, and Klobuchar for their leadership in forming this caucus, which will help promote policies that support innovation and the expansion of sustainable aviation fuel,” said Devin Osting, interim executive director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America.

“The increased production, availability, and use of SAF will enable rural economic development - potentially supporting 400,000 jobs in the coming years, by some estimates - while supporting domestic energy security and slashing carbon emissions. The broad bipartisan support for SAF demonstrates just how universal its benefits are across sector and region.

“The general aviation industry has ambitiously committed to net-zero emissions by 2050, and plays a critical role as an incubator and early adopter of decarbonization technologies, including SAF."

The Senate Sustainable Aviation Caucus follows the creation of a similar caucus in the House of Representatives earlier this year.
