Less than 60 days after naming Mike Lakmann as the company’s new Chief Operations Officer, Anderson Trucking Service, Inc. (ATS) is pleased to announce additional changes in senior leadership and a new addition to the ATS leadership team.

The following leadership changes will go into effect at ATS in early November:

Ben Delong, formerly ATS’ Director of Heavy Haul, has been promoted to Vice President of Operations for the company’s specialized transportation division, ATS Specialized, Inc. Ben brings a unique perspective to his new role with more than a decade of experience across both operations and customer service at ATS. As critical influences in both the driver and customer experiences, he’ll draw upon this expertise to establish a common vision and create internal synergies that ensure sustained delivery and service excellence for ATS drivers and customers.

Gene Lemke, ATS’ Vice President of Projects, has been promoted to an expanded role of Vice President of Projects & Heavy Haul. In his new role, Gene will oversee the company’s asset-based full service logistics projects team and its asset-based heavy haul truckload services, in addition to corporate pricing and specialty freight. Bringing more than 30 years of experience at ATS to the expanded role, Gene will focus on expanding project and heavy haul service offerings in key markets and meeting the broader needs of existing ATS customer relationships with these solutions.

Mark Keul has been promoted to Director of Heavy Haul Operations. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations of the 150-truck ATS heavy haul fleet, Mark’s expanded responsibilities will also include leading the company’s internal heavy haul permitting team and St. Cloud, Minnesota-based subsidiary, Sentinel Pilot Car Services. With more than 20 years of experience in heavy haul at ATS, Mark will focus his expertise and governance in permits and pilot car services — two key direct influences in the daily driver experience — to maximize earning potential and career satisfaction and minimize inefficiencies for ATS heavy haul drivers.

As ATS pursues a growth-driven strategy that aims to continuously improve service capacity for customers and diversity of freight options and earning potential for drivers, a new role has been added to the ATS leadership infrastructure. Andrew Hadland will join ATS in the new role of Vice President of Strategy & Acquisition on November 8. In this role, Andrew will be focused on developing external and internal growth strategies that will position the company to continue to meet the growing transportation demands of the rapidly evolving market well into the future.

These recently announced changes support the company’s commitment to providing the best customer and driver experience in the transportation industry.

“Our mission at ATS, in part, highlights our timeless commitment to helping people succeed,” said ATS President, Brent Anderson. “What it takes to be successful in the transportation industry has changed dramatically over the past three years. The combined skills and experience of this team will help us continue to evolve with the market to support the ongoing success of our drivers and customers around the world.”

The company will celebrate its 67th year in transportation in January 2022.

“Our goal isn’t to be the biggest transportation company in the world, but it is to be the best. We strive to be a permanent career home for our drivers and employees and a trusted business partner for our customers long-term,” Anderson said.
