Advises on market access and compliance

William H. Lash, III, US Assistant Secretary of Commerce was in Cleveland recently where he listened to senior executives from ComSense Technology and Orbital Research discuss their plans for local manufacturing, investment, and overseas sales. He also offered advice and assistance in developing future marketing relationships in Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim. Both of these growing, high-tech companies are located on Euclid Avenue.

"I'm honored that Assistant Secretary Lash selected ComSense as one of the few companies to visit on his brief tour of Cleveland, and to see us recognized by the Federal Government," said Bob Chalfant of ComSense Technology. "I am hopeful that this will lead to enhanced business opportunities for ComSense and the City of Cleveland."

Brian Kolkowski, Vice President and Chief Counsel at Orbital Research, said, "Our patents and other intellectual property here at Orbital Research were developed over many years by dozens of highly talented scientists and engineers. Assistant Secretary Lash's widely acclaimed efforts to promote Intellectual Property Rights in China and elsewhere will help us to more securely expand our business."

ComSense is commercializing innovative high-temperature pressure sensors for harsh environments that enable more precise control of diesel, gasoline, and turbine engines. The sensor is part of an on-board computer system that will improve fuel economy, reduce emissions and give mechanics better diagnostic tools. ComSense Technology is a spin-off from Orbital Research Inc, a highly regarded and recognized high-technology R&D leader in northeast Ohio.
