ATA Freight, a leading global logistics and freight forwarding services provider, recently earned its latest validation verification acknowledging its continued commitment to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP)’s Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT). The purpose of CTPAT is to partner with the trade community in order to secure the U.S. and international supply chain from potential terrorist organization’s intrusion.

To earn validation as a CTPAT partner, ATA Freight had to document and validate its supply chain security procedures in relation to the CBP CTPAT’s criteria. CTPAT requires that participants develop an internal validation process to ensure the existence of security measures which are documented in their Supply Chain Security Profile and additional background information provided to CBP. The validation of ATA Freight’s supply chain security procedures was jointly conducted by CBP CTPAT Supply Chain Security Specialists and the company.

ATA Freight CEO Matt Goker stated, “We are fully committed to the CTPAT program and its mission. Today, the global community faces many challenges and threats not the least of which is terrorism. For those of us conducting business and trusted with other companies’ valued cargo, it is essential that we take every measure available to promote the highest standards of supply chain security. The CTPAT program is an excellent vehicle for standardizing critical measures that all companies operating on the supply chain should be implementing.”
