Atlantic Container Line announces a terminal change for our A service vessels in the Port of Virginia. We will transfer our vessel operations from the Portsmouth Marine Terminal (PMT) to Norfolk International Terminal (NIT) in mid-September 2019.

In recent weeks ACL has been docking at both the PMT and NIT facilities in Virginia, working our RORO cargoes at the PMT facility and container traffic has worked at NIT. Mechanical issues with two container cranes at PMT resulted in a compulsory change for ACL to temporarily split our operation to the two terminals to handle our RORO and LOLO cargo.
Effective with the arrival of the Atlantic Sea, voyage ATE3519/ATE3619 (ETA September 15) the ACL A service vessels will only call at NIT for RORO and LOLO operations.
The Atlantic Sun, voyage ASU3619/ASU3719 (ETA September 10) will be the last vessel to call at both PMT and NIT for vessel operations.
ACL recommends that our export customers using merchant rail carriage be mindful of the upcoming terminal changes when placing transport with your intermodal rail providers.
Import customers, please take note of this change when notifying your brokers, forwarders and consignees for your cargo discharging at the Port of Virginia.
