Avianca Cargo, Colombian airline and one of Latin America’s biggest carriers, has expanded their use of Traxon Global Security (TGS) by adding security filing for Canada. Now compliant with Transport Canada’s Pre-Load Air Cargo Targeting (PACT) initiaitve, Avianca Cargo is utilizing TGS to meet all regulatory requirements using the platforms’ automated data collection, validation, and submission.

Transport Canada’s PACT program aims to identify and mitigate high-risk air cargo shipments before they are transported to Canada. Risk assessments are carried out through Pre-Loading Advance Cargo Information (PLACI) screenings, meaning air carriers, and forwarders are required to submit detailed shipment data before loading.

Avianca Cargo has been proactive about meeting the outlined requirements and was already in the process of implementation when Transport Canada announced the deadline for compliance as 1st April 2025.

As existing users of TGS for compliance with other PLACI schemes, Avianca Cargo was familiar with the platform and had been using it to great success for many years now. This means CHAMP was able to add Canada PACT capabilities with minimal interference, making it the most time and cost-effective solution.

Further leveraging TGS equips Avianca Cargo with streamlined processes, automation and accurate data submission while improving efficiency, reducing costs, and avoiding costly penalties associated with non-compliance. Avianca Cargo will also benefit from having all their customs reporting in one place, providing full visibility of all customs and security reporting.

CHAMP is committed to continuously update TGS with new and emerging requirements for multiple PLACI schemes, including ACAS, EU-ICS2, NAIC, and PREDICT. As new initiatives emerge, Avianca and other TGS customers can rest assured of staying up-to-date with the global regulatory landscape.

Avianca Cargo has consistently selected CHAMP as their trusted partner and diligently complies with new and emerging regulations and standards by leveraging CHAMP’s solutions such as Traxon cargoHUB Airmail, Traxon Global Customs, and Traxon Global Security.

CHAMP and Avianca Cargo have enjoyed a close and productive working relationship defined by high levels of trust, communication, and engagement.

Eduardo Arenas, Director of Alliances, Strategy, and Transformation at Avianca Cargo said "I am pleased to announce that we have proactively met the outlined requirements of Transport Canada’s PACT initiative. This achievement underscores our commitment to excellence and our dedication to staying ahead of regulatory standards to better serve our customers and partners."

Anna Klekner, Senior Sales and Account Manager from CHAMP said “We congratulate Avianca Cargo on their diligence in adding Canada PACT capabilities to their existing use of Traxon Global Security. This is an important addition that will streamline Avianca’s regulatory compliance, allowing them to seamlessly operate in Canada. We look forward to supporting Avianca’s operations and facilitating compliance with new requirements as they develop.”
