cargo-partner effectively turned its representative office in Jakarta into a fully operational branch office to further strengthen its commitment in South East Asia, a strategically highly important region for the company. This expansion is the logical next step for cargo-partner as business from and to Indonesia has grown constantly.

With growth factors of more than 15% in the cargo business, cargo-partner plans to successfully expand its commercial activity in Indonesia, currently the 16th largest economy in the world. The expansion was made possible after the Indonesian government amended local regulations in 2021 allowing foreign logistics companies to incorporate as wholly foreign-owned enterprises. This enables cargo-partner to provide its services directly to customers in Indonesia, which legally had not been possible under the representative status. Considering the size of Indonesia as well as its industrial estates, the opening of the office in Jakarta with eleven employees, is only the first step in increasing cargo-partner’s footprint in the country. The Jakarta office offers a wide range of logistics solutions to our local customers, overseas offices, partners and agents, covering international, but also domestic freight services.

Stefan Krauter, CEO of cargo-partner, states: “We seized this opportunity given to us by the Indonesian government to turn our representative office into a fully operational branch office in Jakarta. We recently expanded our branch office network in Australia and with the addition of Indonesia we continue to pursue our expansion strategy in the region. This was the next important and logical step for us. We look forward to supporting our Indonesian customers as best we can as the customer is at the heart of everything we do.”
