The new branch office at Greece’s largest sea port complements cargo-partner’s extensive network in Southeast Europe and offers door-to-door solutions by sea, air and road. The port’s strategic location allows cargo-partner to achieve faster transit times for import shipments from and to the Balkans.
Half a year after setting foot in Greece with an office in Thessaloniki, cargo-partner has now opened a second Greek office at the port of Piraeus. Here, the cargo-partner team offers comprehensive sea, air and road transport services, with a special focus on FCL and LCL solutions by seafreight. “Urgent cargoes to the Balkans are often discharged at Piraeus and then forwarded by truck to the final destination, achieving faster transit times compared to other ports,” explained Kostas Polatidis. In addition, the port of Piraeus is directly connected to Athens International Airport providing the possibility to transfer goods worldwide by airfreight.
The Piraeus office serves a range of industries. The local cargo-partner team has special expertise in temperature-controlled transports of foodstuffs such as fruits and vegetables, which constitute a large part of Greek exports. Other important export goods include construction materials, pharmaceutical products, machinery, aluminum and plastics. In import, the most significant sectors include machinery, electrical and electronic components as well as household items and apparel.
