Munich – CHAMP Cargosystems has won the ECS Group #NexGenLeaders 2019 Challenge alongside Air France KLM Martinair Cargo and Dropslab. The consortium won the award for their Augmented Reality for Air Cargo Warehouses project. The project increases efficiencies in ground handling operations from freight acceptance to palette build-up with the use of augmented reality hardware.
The award was announced earlier yesterday at Air Cargo Europe 2019 in Munich.
The challenge, hosted by ECS Group – the leading GSSA player – aims to help regenerate the industry by giving startups, students, and its own employees all over the world the chance to showcase their talent and put it to use to benefit an unbelievably dynamic industry.
“We are incredibly honored to have won this award and would like to thank our partners, students from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences that participated, and ECS Group for hosting the event,” says Lucas Fernandez, Head of Innovation at CHAMP Cargosystems. “CHAMP is dedicated to making the air cargo supply chain simpler, faster and better by leveraging and introducing the latest technologies to our industry.”
“We are delighted to show off new technologies that can transform and improve the air cargo supply chain,” says Marcel de Nooijer, Executive Vice President at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo. “Only our joint efforts could have brought this forward – and we are thrilled to have made it a success alongside CHAMP and Dropslab.”
“Dropslab is thrilled with this innovative opportunity to develop technologies for air cargo,” says Dr. Pascal Schug, Managing Director at Dropslab Technologies. “Congratulations to our partners and everyone involved in this most fruitful project.”
