Philadelphia, PA - CLX Logistics, LLC, a leader in global logistics services, announced the appointment of David Vieira as its new Chief Executive Officer. Vieira takes on this strategic role after three years serving as the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer. His predecessor, Steve Hamilton, now serves the Company as Chairman.
“I have witnessed David evolve in his role and contribute a great deal to CLX’s growth and success during the past three years, and I am excited about where he plans to take CLX Logistics as our new CEO,” said Hamilton, who has since stepped down as Chief Executive Officer but will serve as Chairman to help guide the Company’s strategic growth with foresight and historical data.
Vieira brings more than two decades of executive logistics expertise to his new role, having seen great success throughout his career working for organizations like MXD Group, Inc. and Exel Direct, Inc.
“Since joining the team in the spring of 2015 as President and COO, I’ve come to know CLX Logistics as a true innovator in the logistics industry,” said Vieira. “I am honored to take on the larger responsibility of CEO and am prepared and eager to add to the Company’s impressive legacy by building upon its suite of solutions, partnerships and technologies that not just drive economic value for our clients but combat the effects of long-standing paradigms in the transportation and logistics industry.”
Prior to CLX Logistics, Vieira served as President and Chief Executive Officer at MXD Group, Inc., where he was responsible for defining and shaping a $300 million home delivery logistics business following a divestiture of Exel Direct from Deutsche Post World Net. He also led the acquisition and integration of the company’s biggest competitor, Home Direct, Inc. Before joining MXD Group, he spent 25 years with Exel, most recently as President of Exel Direct, Inc., a leading third-party logistics transportation company focused on the final mile delivery segment and serving major retailers, distributors and manufacturers. Vieira holds a BS in business management from Providence College.
