CMA CGM informs that in response to the rapid expansion of brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) throughout Europe and North America, New-Zealand authorities have issued guidelines and instructions for the 2024/2025 high risk season (September 1st, 2024 to April 30th, 2025) to prevent infestations.

As with previous BMSB risk seasons, it is the responsibility of the customer with cargo subject to these restrictions to meet treatment and certification/reporting requirements for their cargo before arrival in New Zealand.

The goods must be fumigated at country of origin or transhipment port (Singapore or Port Klang) prior to arrival to New Zealand. They cannot be fumigated on arrival in New Zealand and would need to be returned to one of the transhipment ports. All costs associated with any delays to ANL/CMA CGM vessels as a result of noncompliance to fumigation regulations will be to the account of the customer.
