CMA CGM, a leading worldwide shipping group, and the OGEU group, 4th largest French water bottler, are pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement on November 2 of this year. This cooperation between 2 leading players in their respective industry focuses on 2 strategic axes: CMA CGM acquiring a stake in the French factory producing the Beaupré water owned by the OGEU Group. Located in Signes, in Southern France, this spring water complies with the highest worldwide quality standards. The creation of a joint-venture company for the exclusive distribution outside Europe of Beaupré and all OGEU Group waters (OGEU, PLANCOET, CHEVREUSE, SAINT LAMBERT, PYRENEA, SAINTE ALIX, etc.). Spring and mineral waters from France are among the best in the world and there is an increasing demand for quality water. Convinced that French waters can answer this growing need, Jacques R. Saadé, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CMA CGM, wished to use CMA CGM’s worldwide presence to promote French drinking waters. The first targeted market will be Asia and, more precisely, China. Indeed, CMA CGM has a close relationship with this country since 1992 where it remains a leading actor to this day. Jean-Hervé CHASSAIGNE, President of the OGEU Group: “The combined expertise of our companies, the common vision of development and the values we share are the foundations of this unprecedented and meaningful coming together of our two family groups. Thanks to this cooperation OGEU products are now offered in many countries.” "With its presence in more than 160 countries, CMA CGM will be able to promote the exceptional quality of these French waters. The partnership with the OGEU Group, a recognized French leader in this field, demonstrates the vision and strong entrepreneurial values of Jacques R. Saadé – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the CMA CGM Group – which remain at the heart of the Group’s success", concludes Elie Zeenny – Senior Vice President in charge of this new project.
