Brian Gorton, President of Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) announced today the appointment of Daniel Dwyer, Esq. to serve as General Counsel. Dwyer will oversee all legal matters within the company, bringing with him over 25 years of extensive legal experience, particularly within the railroad industry.

Dwyer joins Conrail after more than eight years with the Southeastern Pennysylvania Transportation Company (SEPTA), where he served as Corporate Counsel and Special Counsel for Commerce and Regulatory Law. Dwyer brings expertise in contract, real estate and litigation law. Prior to his working at SEPTA, Dwyer spent 22 years in private practice, where he developed a strong foundation in various legal areas.

“This position seemed like a natural opportunity for growth,” said Dwyer. “I am looking forward to doing what we can to help people.”

Dwyer also said he was looking forward to providing support to his Conrail legal and management team to enhance their strengths, building on them to positively impact Conrail.
