Frampton Construction Company, LLC, a full-service construction firm providing planning and design support, preconstruction, and construction services, has broken ground on Lakeland Commerce Center @ County Line in Lakeland, Fla. Totaling 905,440-square-feet, the project consists of four speculative industrial buildings on a 98-acre site. The park is being developed by Stonemont Financial Group, a privately held real estate investment firm.

Located on County Line Road with quick access to I-4, the park provides prime connectivity to Tampa, Lakeland, and Orlando. Household names like Home Depot, IKEA, and ACE Hardware are just a few of the large national brands that occupy distribution centers in the immediate vicinity.

The four facilities will be constructed of tilt-up concrete wall panels with structural steel frames and thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofs. Building 400 totals 348,740-square-feet with a cross-dock layout, 36’ clear height, and 84 dock doors. The remaining buildings feature rear-load layouts and 32’ clear heights. Building 100 measures 258,000-square-feet (68 dock doors), building 200 is 148,100-square-feet (53 dock doors), and building 300 is 150,600-square-feet (52 dock doors).

Alex Seglem, senior project manager at Frampton Construction, noted, “We’re excited to be underway on another significant industrial project for Stonemont Financial Group. The construction of Lakeland Commerce Center will help feed the growing demand for Class-A distribution space in one of the most active submarkets in central Florida.”

Ware Malcomb is the project architect and Kimley Horn is serving as civil engineer. Construction started in June and is expected to conclude in April of 2024.
