In 1982, Hanif Yusoof founded Expolanka Freight as a five-man team in a 300 square foot office. Commonly referred to as “Expo,” the Sri Lanka-based company aligned itself with global providers by offering flexible solutions with a personal touch. 40 years later, the supply chain and logistics organization – widely known as EFL Global – has expanded to over 70 offices in 34 countries, powered by a team of over 3,000 industry professionals.
As we enter our 40th year, we reflect on the growth of our organization and the wide array of opportunities that came with it. EFL Global defied boundaries in its journey, from its headquarters in the Indian Subcontinent to key facilities in North America, Central America, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Through our steadfast resilience, we’ve supported supply chains across key verticals like fashion and apparel, pharmaceuticals, technology, automotive, machinery and equipment, and aid and relief.
We also remember the challenges we’ve faced as a global organization, especially over the last two years. Despite global disruptions, EFL Global remained true to its purposes and values, providing customers with the utmost transparency and highest level of service while ensuring the safety of our own staff. A key element of our business model is humanity – a testament to who we are not only as a provider and employer, but as people.
We would not be here, 40 years and countless achievements later, without the support of our past and present customers, industry partners, and teammates. We sincerely thank each party involved for the opportunity to grow businesses and transform supply chains. We’re proud to be one of the top logistics providers in the world – and we’re just getting started.
