The federal government recently awarded the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening Project nearly $32.4 million in funding, keeping construction on track. This is in addition to $21.5 million the federal government committed to the project in 2017, plus significant contributions from the state of Florida.

“These dollars signal that the federal government believes in our deepening project and has confidence in our ability to provide a return on this investment,” said JAXPORT CEO Eric Green.

The project began construction in February 2018 and will allow the largest container cargo ships currently calling the U.S. East Coast to visit JAXPORT more fully loaded.
