Frampton Construction Company, LLC, a full-service construction firm providing planning and design support, preconstruction, and construction services, has completed construction on an export facility for A&R Logistics, Inc. at West Branch Commerce Park in Moncks Corner, S.C. To celebrate the opening of the 615,000 square-foot facility, A&R Logistics hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday. The project was developed by The Keith Corporation in conjunction with the owner of West Branch Commerce Park.

The new facility for A&R Logistics, one of North America’s leading providers of supply chain services for the chemical industry, will support the packaging and export of plastic resin through four high-speed, state-of-the-art packaging lines. CSX will provide rail service to the site, strategically located for its direct, reliable, and efficient access to the Port of Charleston.

The 615,000 square-foot building is comprised of warehousing and packaging space, as well as over 4,500 square feet of office. The facility has a 36’ clear height and was constructed of tilt-up concrete wall panels with a structural steel frame and TPO roof. Rail tracks run along the building’s south side to facilitate the offloading of product from train cars, while the north side of the building features 72 dock doors where product is then loaded onto trucks for export.

To accommodate the facility’s rail requirements, Frampton Construction completed the installation of one rail spur and 24,000 feet of private rail. A 3,920 linear foot spine road was also built to connect the new facility to Gaillard Road.

Robert Combs, project director for The Keith Corporation’s Industrial Division, said, “We’re excited to open up West Branch Commerce Park with the completion of the A&R Logistics facility and look forward to witnessing their success here. We appreciate our partnership with Frampton Construction and their ability to execute a successful design-build facility and concurrent infrastructure project.”

Chris Ball, president of A&R Logistics, Inc., said, “We’re proud to be successfully up and running in Moncks Corner and look forward to contributing to the economic development of the local area. Frampton Construction was a great partner in seeing our vision through for this project. The facility has already proven to be advantageous for our customers, enabling us to provide unrivaled trade flow flexibility for some of the largest chemical companies in the world.”

“We’re proud of the entire project team for coming together and exceeding expectations during a challenging time to deliver this large scale, world-class facility in under 11 months. A&R Logistics will be a valuable addition to Charleston’s business community, and we look forward to watching them flourish here,” added Chad Frampton, CEO of Frampton Construction.

McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture completed the design for the facility. Construction began in October of 2019 and was completed ahead of schedule in August 2020.
