Fraport to develop state-of-the-art air cargo warehouse in CargoCity South – Completion and handover to Swissport in 2020
FRA/sc – Fraport AG and Swissport signed a long-term lease agreement for a new air cargo facility in CargoCity South at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Fraport is developing a new custom-built air cargo warehouse for Swissport at CargoCity South. The facility will have a surface of 16,900 square meters, with an additional 2,260 square meters to be used as office and social space. Swissport International Ltd., the world market leader in ground handling, is also one of the world’s largest air cargo handling companies, operating 133 warehouses around the globe.
Willy Ruf, senior VP of Swissport Germany, Austria & Switzerland, said: “Swissport is committing a double-digit million euro amount towards the new facility at Frankfurt. Infrastructure plays a key role in optimizing our service delivery and reaching the ambitious efficiency and reliability goals for our clients around the world.”

The cargo and logistics industry, including the leading global players, have become established at the 98-hectare CargoCity South. Comprising some 200 companies and authorities with more than 9,000 specialists, the CargoCity South logistics community can take advantage of more than 300 flight destinations worldwide via the Frankfurt Airport aviation hub.
