GAC Logistics has won the prestigious 'Transport-Logistics-Freight' award at the twentieth edition of the Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent (MEIS) Awards that took place in Dubai on 5 November 2007.

One of the oldest and most esteemed annual awards in the region, the Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards, has, for 20 years championed high standards and quality in shipping and also issues that are close the heart of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). It recognizes achievements made by companies in taking steps to improve maritime safety, strengthen security of ships and port facilities and protect the environment. The Award also seeks to honor those who have made significant contributions to the Maritime business related industries.

The winners of 25 categories, selected by an independent panel consisting of respected industry figures, were presented with their prizes at a prestigious gala event held at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, UAE.

Bengt Ekstrand, GAC Regional Director for the Middle East, received the trophy on behalf of the company. He says, 'This is a significant win for GAC which has proven that our continual investments in the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent region, particularly in the areas of warehousing and distribution have paid off.'
