At a press event yesterday at the National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo, Ohio, Great Lakes maritime industry leaders joined with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide a progress update on construction of the new large lock at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The new $1.4 billion lock is the largest investment in the Great Lakes navigation system in a generation and will help to ensure supply chain resiliency.

At the event, the Great Lakes Seaway Partnership, a maritime industry public affairs program, released new art posters commissioned to commemorate the lock project and draw attention to its importance. These posters are suitable for both home and office and will be available for purchase at the museum and through its online store. Proceeds from poster sales will support the museum’s non-profit mission. Posters will also be available at the Soo Lock Visitors Center in Sault Ste. Marie.
