Houston TX - Houston-based global logistics service provider, UTC Overseas, Inc. has announced the appointment of Hans J. Meyer to serve as the firm’s new CEO, succeeding Brian Posthumus. Posthumus, who has been with UTC for nearly three decades, will assume an active role as Chairman, and work closely with the Executive Management Team as a source of guidance, knowledge and continuity.

In selecting Mr. Meyer to succeed him, Mr. Posthumus credited his vision, drive and knowledge of the company and over 14 years of service to the firm, most recently as Executive Vice President in charge of the company’s Heavy Equipment Division. “Mr. Meyer built the HE division that provides customized transport and logistics services for such key industries as Construction, Infrastructure and Mining.

“Under Mr. Meyer’s direction, UTC’s services were structured around the global UTC network utilizing the company’s dedicated specialists,” Mr. Posthumus noted. “Today, UTC Overseas provides its customers with comprehensive customized services delivered at a level of skill, reliability, safety and efficiency unmatched in our industry.

“The logistics industry is constantly changing,” Mr. Posthumus stated. “To continue UTC’s success, it is vital to adapt to change and move forward with a renewed vision and strategy. I believe it is critical to bring change from within, and entrust somebody who knows UTC’s culture, expectations and who will uphold and further enhance our superior service level. Looking back over his nearly 30 years as head of UTC Overseas, Mr. Posthumus cited a number of significant accomplishments:

  • Grown to a truly global organization with over 600 employees working from 47 offices in 27 countries.
  • Developed specialized rail assets with in-house transport and rail engineering services.
  • Added a capital projects customs and trade compliance group, enhanced general cargo and air freight services, and developed dedicated competence centers in cement, packaging logistics, power generation and oil and gas, thus offering single-source, turnkey solutions for any project globally no matter how complex.

In a personal note to company executives and colleagues, Mr. Posthumus extended his heartfelt thanks for their support, dedication and friendship over the years.
