Hapag-Lloyd announced that the MV “Stadt Dresden” Voyage 331S has suffered main engine issues while berthing in Venice. Unfortunately, the vessel will not be able to continue her voyage to Damietta as she has to undergo repairs. At this stage it is unknown how long the repairs will take.
All cargo that was already loaded on MV “Stadt Dresden” will be discharged in Venice. Hapag-Lloyd is currently working on alternative solutions to deliver this cargo to the respective destinations as soon as possible.
As a first measure, they will deploy the MV “Nordviolet” with ETA Venice February 21 and she will load all cargo for port of discharge Damietta and then sail straight to Damietta with ETA February 26. Furthermore, they are still evaluating potential solutions for Piraeus-bound cargo.
