Today at Air Cargo Europe in Munich, IAG Cargo announced that WebCargo by Freightos has become the first live user of IAG Cargo’s digital APIs. This provides instant access to rates, route availability, and the platform to make and manage bookings in real time to any of IAG Cargo’s 350+ destinations.
Customers are now able to access these new functionalities through the WebCargo platform, the comprehensive air cargo pricing and eBooking platform. eBookings can be made via the platform in seconds, meaning time savings for freight forwarders and faster shipments for end customers. Shipment tracking is also in the late stages of development.
In addition to booking through WebCargo, IAG Cargo has invested heavily in developing APIs that can be integrated directly into customer systems, allowing customers the choice to book via IAGCargo.com or their own system.
Manel Galindo CEO of WebCargo by Freightos, said: “We’re proud to have built the world’s largest digital air cargo network across 1,400 logistics providers. Today, we are thrilled that IAG Cargo is joining our network. IAG Cargo is a digital trendsetter and we’re excited to partner with them to bring air cargo online, beginning with seamless price, rate, and eBooking connectivity.”
iagMichel Forintos, Manager Marketing, Business Processes & IT Solutions at Kintetsu World Express (KWE) said: “eBookings are key to KWE’S goal of making air cargo more efficient and predictable for our customers. WebCargo’s support of instant pricing and eBookings with one of our preferred partners, IAG Cargo, means smarter, faster operations and, more importantly, improved service.”
