GreenPort Cruise & Congress 2019 will welcome a keynote address from the International Maritime Organisation (IMO)

Fareham UK – GreenPort Congress 2019 will highlight the latest in environmental challenges and how ports can reduce their carbon footprint.

The GreenPort Congress conference is pleased to welcome the IMO (International Maritime Organisation) who are the United Nation’s specialised agency responsible for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine and atmospheric pollution by ships.

The conference will open on the 16 October 2019 with a keynote address from Sveinung Oftedal, the IMO Negotiator for Norway. Mr Oftedal is a Specialist Director in the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment with focus on international negotiations on environmental requirements for the maritime sector. He will discuss the future of zero emissions for ports, terminals and ship operators and how these strategies can be implemented into ports.
