AECOM, the world's premier infrastructure firm, announced today that Mari Miceli has been named a senior program manager for AECOM's Design and Consulting Services Americas (DCSA) Transportation business unit in New York City. In her new role, Mari will lead and support upcoming mega transit and rail projects in the region.
"As part of our continued growth in the New York Metro transportation area, Mari will play a significant role in enhancing our client focus and project management depth, given her extensive background in design-build and firsthand knowledge of Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) transit and rail operations, design and construction environment," said Majid Hedayati, P.E., senior vice president, DCSA Transportation, AECOM. "We are very excited to have her as part of the team."
Mari has more than 35 years of experience in the transportation industry and specifically expertise in alternative delivery and design-build projects, as well as rail station design, parking garages, shops and yards. Some of her more recent project expertise includes streamlined design-build guidelines for the MTA, which is now being implemented system-wide. Key projects under Mari's leadership include the $1-billion, phased replacement of Metro-North's largest repair shop in Croton-Harmon, and the replacement and rehabilitation of many of the 85 New York Stations, including system expansion of new stations in Cortlandt and Yankees – East 153rd Street stations.
"With so many years of transit experience on the owner's side, I hope to share my stations and shops experience and provide an owner's perspective to the AECOM team, anticipating and delivering solutions to address our clients' needs across the region," said Mari.
Mari is also an active member of Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS), an international organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. Throughout her career, Mari has put special emphasis on promoting, retaining, and hiring women in engineering careers in the transit arena. She's served as mentor to women in these engineering careers and Miceli joins AECOM to continue this work while at AECOM.
