Due to unresolved IT issues with the STI (Shared Trader Interface) of the EU, that are not specific to MSC only but common to many other shipping companies and supply chain actors as reported by Customs and World Shipping Council, MSC has decided to postpone the go live date to be at the end of October. MSC will continue to update you as more information becomes available.

Note that the collection of the additional data elements started on September 16th (as per previous advisory) will remain in effect as a requirement on your shipping instructions.

As a reminder, the minimal set of information that MSC requires on the shipping instructions for all goods transported to or through the EU, Northern Ireland, Norway, and Switzerland are:

  • At least six-digit Harmonized System (HS) codes
  • Information about:

o whether the House Bill is present (yes or no)

o whether the goods are delivered within the EU (yes or no)

o whether seller and buyer of the goods are coincident with shipper and consignee indicated on our BL. (yes or no)
