UHL took delivery of the newbuilding at the CSSC shipyard in Hudong, China in February 2021. UHL FAITH will finish her maiden voyage to Hamburg, Germany on March 3rd, 2021. If there are no weather-related delays, the naming ceremony will take place on the day of her arrival in Hamburg.

"The fact that UHL FAITH is completing her maiden voyage in Hamburg is a special occasion and perfect timing," states Andreas Rolner, Managing Director of UHL. United Heavy Lift's headquarters is located in Hamburg's HafenCity, directly on the river front and opposite the assigned discharge terminal. “We would like to thank the Port of Hamburg for their great support in making the naming ceremony possible.” Andreas Rolner notes. This is the first christening of a heavy-lift vessel in Hamburg in 10 years.

Due to Covid-related restrictions, the naming ceremony in Hamburg will be held in a small circle. "We are aware of the current situation and do not want to endanger our crew, guests, and clients. Instead, we have decided to invite everyone online." adds Felix Abendroth, Head of HSEQ Department. A strict security concept applies to the event and all participants.

UHL Faith is the first in a series of eight newbuildings that will strengthen the UHL fleet. The UHL newbuilding program focuses on advanced and most modern propulsion systems thus the group strives to be a market leader with regards to a reduction of carbon emissions. “The carbon footprint of the F900 class is 30-50% less compared to the existing heavy lift fleet in the market.” states Dominik Stehle, Chief Commercial Officer of UHL.  “We affirm our company’s commitment to contributing to an eco-friendly shipping industry by investing in fuel-efficient tonnage.” adds Andreas Rolner.

The F900 vessels’ dimensions perfectly complement UHL’s innovative and tailor-made heavy lift transport solutions. Once the new-building program is completed, UHL will service its clients with a fleet of seventeen F900 Eco-Lifter vessels. “The new vessels offer superior intake and crane capacity to cater to the needs of a wide range of industry clients and cargos. We thank our client Geodis for entrusting us with their cargo for our maiden voyage”, Dominik Stehle adds. Despite being a heavy lift vessel, for her maiden voyage UHL FAITH loaded containers to help ease the current capacity constraints in the container market for our clients.
