The Northwest Seaport Alliance handled a total of 307,592 twenty-foot equivalent units(TEUs), an increase of 13.8% compared to July 2020. Full imports grew 21.5%, while full exports decreased 13.6%, reflecting trends in other major west coast gateways.
Year-to-date volumes improved 18.2% to 2,167,766 TEUs, with full imports growing 29.6% and full exports declining 11.5%.
Domestic volumes grew 8.8% vs. YTD 2020. Alaska volumes saw a 5.6% increase while Hawaii volumes grew 23.9%.

Breakbulk YTD July 2021 cargo volumes grew 36.3% to 218,177 metric tons. July 2021 was a record-breaking month for the NWSA gateway.
Auto volumes were 102,926 units, up 33.2% over YTD July 2020.
