The advanced manifest rules went into effect first in the United States followed quickly by Canada as a part of their broad cargo security initiative. This information which is transmitted to the governments for inspection prior to the goods leaving their origin countries allows for proactive measures to turn away goods deemed potentially unsafe. This initiative is meant to hopefully stave off potential risk to its citizens. Similar efforts are being discussed in the European Union.

With the release of our Advanced Truck Manifest system for shipments bound for the United States released last month, and our new AACI solution we expect even more attention will be paid to this important initiative.' said Mr. Wasserman when commenting on the importance of software vendors making compliance with the new manifest rules manageable by the trade community.
