Pharma.Aero, a global leader in cross-industry collaboration, announces the official release of the white paper detailing the findings of the Precision Therapy Logistics Project, addressing the unique challenges of transporting precision therapies. The groundbreaking initiative marks a significant step in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of life-saving personalized advanced treatments to patients worldwide.
Precision therapies, which offer personalized healthcare solutions, are reshaping the medical landscape. However, their complex logistics demands, from stringent temperature controls to real-time shipment visibility, require tailored solutions. Recognizing this, Pharma.Aero initiated the Precision Therapy Logistics (PTL) Project to explore the handling and distribution requirements of these therapies to construct a logistics framework that ensures safe, secure and effective distribution.
The logistics framework, which identified eight interconnected focus areas, demonstrates that integrating people, processes and technology is essential for delivering precision therapies. Certified and trained personnel follow clear processes to ensure the correct handling of products and to resolve issues along the supply chain. Dedicated teams and collaborative technologies guarantee end-to-end coordination and proactively manage common challenges like customs clearance and temperature control.
Cross-Industry Collaboration
The PTL project included surveys, interviews, and workshops with leading stakeholders across the pharmaceutical, logistics, and airport sectors. Pharma.Aero uniquely positioned itself to tackle these challenges by leveraging its extensive network of members and partners across all segments of the life sciences supply chain. This collaborative approach ensured that the proposed solutions are practical, inclusive, and adaptable across industries, giving the industry a broader perspective on emerging challenges and trends.
Looking Ahead
Pharma.Aero’s project lays a solid foundation for the next phase of the PTL Excellence Gateway project. The framework will be further tested and expanded by developing a shipping protocol, standardized shipping label, and conducting pilot shipments with different stakeholders and industry partners.
