Freeport, TX – Recently, Port Freeport Executive Director/CEO, Phyllis Saathoff, was presented the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award by the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL). The Distinguished Alumni Award honors University of Houston-Clear Lake graduates who have made significant contributions to society and whose accomplishments have brought credit to the university.
“It is an honor to receive this award from the institution that helped propel my professional career. The University of Houston-Clear Lake afforded me the knowledge and skills foundation necessary to lead a dynamic and fast-growing port that continues to see remarkable economic expansion and job creation,” said Saathoff.
“We chose to honor Ms. Saathoff-Oliver for several reasons: notably, for the honor she brings to our institution; for all she has done and continues to do to bring prosperity and economic stability to our Gulf Coast communities, and for her stellar career, which certainly inspires others to chase their own dreams,” said UHCL President Ira K. Blake.
