The Halifax Port Authority and the Suez Canal Authority have entered into a memorandum of understanding. This agreement is aimed at generating new business by promoting the all water route between Asia and the Indian Subcontinent by moving cargo through the Port of Halifax via the Suez Canal.

This memorandum will benefit the mutual interests of both parities and allow for further cooperation and information sharing. 'The Suez Canal is a vital connection for the Port of Halifax with Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. Our Port's future growth will benefit from this relationship as global trade and shipping continues to grow,' said Michael Cormier, Vice President, Business Development & Customer Relations, Halifax Port Authority.
