Annual event features Western Hemisphere’s largest gathering of seaport and maritime transportation professionals
To kick off the 108th Annual Convention and Expo of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) convention host The Port of Virginia, on Monday afternoon, Oct. 14, will provide registrants with a narrated harbor cruise aboard the Carrie B, an authentic replica of a 19th century paddle-wheeler.
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (Jacobs) is among the convention’s sponsors who are excited to participate in the annual conference and show off The Port of Virginia’s many amenities.
“Jacobs is proud to be the Post-Panamax level sponsor of the AAPA annual convention,” said Jacobs Vice President Todd Stockberger. “It’s an honor for us to support AAPA’s mission as the voice of the seaport industry and help shine a spotlight on our partner and one of the most strategic and progressive ports in the industry -- The Port of Virginia.”
Jacobs is providing program management, planning, design and construction support to The Port of Virginia for its recently expanded Virginia International Gateway terminal and throughout all seven of its terminals.
The three-day business program features a robust agenda, with industry leaders and subject matter experts focusing on topics ranging from ports as economic development engines, to technology and big data, cargo transportation efficiency, trade policy, emergency response and cybersecurity.
