The U.S. Census Bureau announced today that preliminary November steel imports were $2.3 billion (1.9 million metric tons) compared to the preliminary October totals of $2.5 billion (2.2 million metric tons).
The November change in steel imports based on metric tonnage reflected decreases in blooms, billets, and slabs and hot rolled sheets. Increases occurred in oil country goods and other metal coated sheets and strips. Decreases occurred primarily with Mexico and Canada. Increases occurred primarily with Taiwan and Argentina.
