Indian members, Procam Logistics have recently moved helicopter parts by airfreight for the Indian Defence Sector from India to London, UK. A total of 855.8kg (959.11cbm) was loaded in Vizag and transported to Chennai Airport for custom clearance and onward airfreight to London.
Procam Manager, Sanjna Vardhan comments; "Some of the boxes were made of metal making them non-stackable and had lengths of 8.9m. There were also restrictions from the client on which airlines could be used and most airlines did not have the capability of carrying such large dimensions and the size of the cargo didn't justify a chartered flight."
All of the challenges were successfully overcome and the project was executed within the budget and delivered on time.
