The Executive Committee of the International Road Federation (IRF Global) is proud to announce the election of Professor Kamil Kaloush, from the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University, as the new Chairman of IRF Global for a two-year term.
Professor Kamil Kaloush is the undergraduate civil engineering program chair and FORTA professor of pavement engineering in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, affiliate faculty in the School of Sustainability and founder / past director of the National Center of Excellence on Smart Innovations. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) and has more than 35 years of experience in pavement research and management services. His areas of expertise include pavement materials design, thermal properties, advanced laboratory testing, field performance evaluation, and pavement management systems.
Accepting the Chairmanship of IRF Global, Professor Kaloush stated,” I envision the next two years as an opportunity to strengthen our collective impact. My goal is to help foster even stronger connections between the sectors—leveraging cutting-edge research, innovative practices, and strategic policymaking to address the challenges and opportunities of the evolving transportation landscape. Together, we will champion sustainable solutions, embrace emerging technologies, and ensure that roads and infrastructure around the world are safer, more resilient, and more inclusive.”
