PTV Group, global market leader for mobility and logistics software, announced today the acquisition of Axylog, a major transport visibility solution provider. With this transaction PTV advances its existing logistics portfolio and opens new growth potential. Customers will benefit from a single source solution for route planning, route optimization and logistics execution.

Axylog’s cloud-based, modern and easy-to-use transport visibility solution provides transparency, real-time monitoring, and control, as well as performance analysis for the entire transportation process. Retailers, wholesalers, the shipping industry, and transport service providers know the location and status of their shipment at all times. Customers can be informed easily about an order’s estimated time of arrival (ETA). The mobile app for drivers digitizes the entire pick-up and delivery process, including electronic POD (Proof of delivery). This plays a key role in the industry: According to the current PTV Logistics Trend Report, 78% of respondents say that digitization is a major or medium-sized challenge in their daily work.

Axylog’s technology is an ideal addition for PTV’s transport planning software. PTV Route Optimizer combines orders into optimal routes that reduce mileage and resources, all while considering restrictions such as time windows and drive- and rest regulations.

“Axylog’s transport visibility solution perfectly complements our route optimization portfolio and allows us to offer a comprehensive solution for the entire transportation planning and delivery process,” says Christian U. Haas, CEO of PTV Group. “Transparency and dynamic communication with customers are among today’s key elements for ensuring high-quality services. Together with Axylog, we will create new opportunities for our customers to improve customer experiences and accelerate business transformation.”

Axylog and PTV Group are linked by a long partnership. Numerous customers who already use both Axylog’s software and the PTV Route Optimizer software have demonstrated how well the two companies complement one another and harmonize. Merging the solutions will open up additional opportunities for new innovations and data-based products.
