Yesterday, Secretary Gina M. Raimondo met with Brazilian Minister of Foreign Relations Mauro Vieira to discuss the importance of the U.S.-Brazil bilateral and commercial relationship during her first official visit to Brasilia, Brazil. U.S.-Brazil bilateral trade reached a record high over the past two years and continuing to strengthen the U.S.-Brazil trading relationship is a priority. Secretary Raimondo shared updates from and underscored the importance of the U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum and the U.S.-Brazil Commercial Dialogue to fostering positive changes in the business environment that will continue to support mutual growth and prosperity. Secretary Raimondo reaffirmed our shared commitment to fight climate change and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. She also stated she is pleased that our collaboration through the Commercial Dialogue supports a shared goal to ensure the benefits of trade reach all populations. The Secretary affirmed the Department’s continued support and ongoing collaboration with the Ministry to commemorate 200 years of U.S.-Brazil diplomatic relations in 2024.
