The National Customs Brokers and Forwarder's Association of America, Inc. (NCBFAA) is happy to announce Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A. (ST&R) as the Association's new Customs Counsel.

"After a careful and thoughtful consideration of all candidates, it is my pleasure to announce the selection of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., as NCBFAA's new Customs Counsel," said NCBFAA President Jan Fields. "As the largest, dedicated international trade, customs and export law firm in the world, I look forward to working with Lenny Feldman, and his team of professionals, in keeping the Association, and trade, moving forward."

Founded in 1977, ST&R has set the standard for international trade lawyers and consultants, providing comprehensive and effective services to clients worldwide. ST&R provides governments, manufacturers, importers, exporters, sureties and retailers the advice and counsel they require to succeed amid the constantly changing demands of global trade.

"We are honored to have the opportunity to serve an organization as well-respected as the NCBFAA," said ST&R's Lenny Feldman, who will serve as lead counsel. "For more than 40 years ST&R has worked side-by-side with brokers and forwarders on the customs and trade issues they deal with, and we've built effective relationships with the federal departments and agencies whose actions impact that community. The ST&R team looks forward to an even closer partnership with the NCBFAA as it responds to current challenges and innovates for the global trade environment of the future."

Feldman is a Member of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., a resident in their Miami office and a member of the firm's Operating Committee. He currently co-chairs the twenty-member U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC) providing strategic recommendations directly to CBP and the departments of Homeland Security and the Treasury on issues such as e-commerce policy, trade partnership programs, enforcement and facilitation mechanisms, and regulatory reform. Prior to joining ST&R, Feldman was a senior attorney with the U.S. Customs Service (now CBP) in Washington, D.C., from 1991 to 2000. While serving in the Penalties, Value, and General Classification branches at CBP headquarters, he issued several hundred national guidelines, directives, and administrative rulings. He was a negotiator of NAFTA and also consulted with foreign customs and trade officials throughout South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The vice president of the United States, the World Customs Organization, and numerous countries recognized him for these efforts.

ST&R replaces long-term firm Grunfeld, Desiderio, Lebowitz, Silverman & Klestadt LLP (GDLSK) after over twelve years. The NCBFAA wants to thank Alan Klestadt, and everyone at GDLSK, for their many years of service to the association.
