Sea & Ports Group, proudly announces a significant expansion of its operations in North Africa with the designation of its dedicated business unit as the exclusive agent for HMM (Hyundai Merchant Marine) in Libya.

This strategic partnership marks a substantial step forward in Sea & Ports' commitment to drive maritime activities in the North African region. HMM's decision to appoint Sea & Ports as the general agent in Libya, together with Etihad as the local subagent, underscores the confidence in each other's capabilities after long-term work in Spain and Portugal and sets the stage for enhanced services and collaboration.

Notably, this development follows Sea & Ports' successful entry into the North African market in 2022, with the commencement of operations in Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria. The expansion into Libya further solidifies the Group’s position as a key player in the maritime landscape of this region.

Commenting on this milestone agreement, José Miguel Tortajada, Managing Director of MAHS, the HMM business unit in Sea & Ports Group, states that “we are honored by HMM's trust in our capabilities, and this collaboration marks a pivotal moment in our partnership with the South Korean flagship. Our expansion into Libya aligns seamlessly with our commitment to providing comprehensive maritime solutions in the Iberian Peninsula and across the North African region”.

This strategic move not only reflects Sea & Ports' dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its clients but also positions the company as a preferred partner in the global maritime industry.

Sea & Ports looks forward to fostering a productive and enduring relationship with HMM and is pleased to welcome Etihad as an esteemed partner in Libya. The Group is excited about the opportunities and synergies that this collaboration will bring to all parties involved.
