Sensitech and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. are excited to announce a strategic collaboration to further develop technologies to advance real-time monitoring solutions for the cold chain industry. This collaboration leverages the strengths of both industry-leading companies to deliver innovative real-time visibility and analytics solutions on a global scale. Sensitech is part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.
“Groundbreaking innovation in digitizing and connecting supply chains requires collaboration across an ecosystem of key players, and we are excited to announce this agreement with Qualcomm Technologies,” said Bhasker Kaushal, Vice President & General Manager, Sensitech and Refrigeration Aftermarket, Carrier. “We will collaborate to improve real-time monitoring, intelligence and response in the supply chain through technologies that enable faster connectivity, more precise visibility and optimized device energy consumption. This will help accelerate our efforts and mission to make supply chains more connected, automated, intelligent and sustainable. We’re driving innovation and collaboration in supply chains to ensure that foods and medications reach their destinations safely, and help reduce food and pharma waste to make a net zero future possible.”
Near term, the focus of the collaboration will be on enhancing Sensitech’s real-time monitoring product suite by leveraging the Qualcomm Aware Platform for advanced global location precision and reliability. This includes the multi-modal flagship variant, TempTale® GEO X, launched to monitor life sciences global cold chain shipments.
Further, this collaboration will allow Sensitech to expand asset tracking capabilities by leveraging these technologies in Carrier’s Lynx ecosystem. Together, Sensitech and Qualcomm Technologies will be at the forefront of future innovations for cold chain visibility.
The cold chain is essential for providing uninterrupted, temperature-controlled transport and storage of perishable goods from producer to consumer. Today's cold chain is often fragmented, with different providers and technologies at each stage, leading to limited visibility and significant risk. This collaboration aims to address these challenges further, ensuring that foods and medications reach their destinations safely, helping alleviate global hunger, and reducing food waste's environmental and societal impact.
The collaboration is under a non-binding memorandum of understanding and is subject to the negotiation of a mutually acceptable definitive commercial agreement.
