CHICAGO – ShipBob today announced the opening of its largest fulfillment center to-date in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to further streamline fulfillment and bring next-day and 2-day shipping to ecommerce businesses. At 150,000 square feet, the brand new state-of-the-art fulfillment center is three times larger than the current New York location.

As ShipBob’s largest fulfillment center in its entire US network, the new location will ship millions of units for thousands of customers this year. The fulfillment center’s address is 4779 Hanoverville Rd, STE 200, Bethlehem, PA 18020 and is located conveniently within 5 miles of UPS, FedEx and other carriers. The location will continue to offer 2-day shipping for merchants’ customers in the greater New York City area in addition to expanded next-day and 2-day shipping coverage for more addresses in the Southeast United States.

“When our lease expired at our old location, we seized the opportunity to increase our footprint in Pennsylvania to support the scale and growth we are seeing in the marketplace,” said ShipBob CEO and Co-Founder Dhruv Saxena. “As demand from ecommerce companies grows across the Northeast region, we have the chance to bring customers the high quality shipping and logistics they desire with an even greater reach for next-day and 2-day shipping.”

ShipBob will also bring new jobs to the area with plans to hire more than 100 new employees and additional temp employees during peak season. Contributing to the expansion is Travis Tinsman, the new General Manager of the fulfillment center. Tisman joined ShipBob from Wayfair, where he was an Operations Manager and oversaw a facility and operational processes for one of the nation’s leading ecommerce retailers. He has also worked as an Operations Manager at international freight consolidator, MyUS.com, and owned several small businesses. In this new role, he will oversee and streamline operations for one of ShipBob’s largest markets. Timsman graduated from East Tennessee State University, where he earned a BBA in Finance.

“Travis is a great addition to the team and will help us successfully launch and manage this brand new fulfillment center to provide ecommerce merchants with best-in-class logistics,” said Todd Bills, SVP of Supply Chain at ShipBob. “We continue to bring great talent to our Operations team and are positive that Travis will help meet our customers’ expectations.”

Thousands of ecommerce businesses use ShipBob to handle their inventory management and order fulfillment. With demand on the rise and fulfillment centers in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, ShipBob will continue to target larger facilities across the country to offer faster, more affordable shipping to online merchants’ shoppers from all corners of the United States.
