Southeastern Freight Lines, a leading provider of regional less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services, has earned a spot on Forbes’ 2018 list of America’s Best Employers.

“Our company is extremely pleased and humbled to be recognized by Forbes,” said Southeastern Freight Lines Senior Vice President Mike Heaton. “We are committed to creating a culture that provides an environment of both employer and customer satisfaction.”

In 1950 W.T. Cassels Sr. founded Southeastern Freight Lines with the philosophy, ‘if we take care of our people, they will take care of our customers and that will take care of our future.’

“We believe our culture remains our greatest asset and creates a work environment that associates want to remain a part of,” says Heaton. “In fact, over 50 percent of our 6,500 employees have 10 or more years with the company. We value this acknowledgement and look forward to upholding these high standards to continue producing industry-leading employee and customer care.”

Nearly 30,000 people working for companies larger than 1,000 employees were surveyed to compile the list of America’s Best Employers. Participation in the survey was voluntary, and respondents were recruited from thousands of sources to maximize reach and representation. Survey participants were asked to rank their employer on varying criteria, how likely they were to recommend their employer to someone else and how they feel about other employers in their industry.
