Altus, Oklahoma and Sarasota, Florida - Southwest Dedicated Transport LLC, a leading motor carrier out of Oklahoma, has selected Globe Tracker, a leader in IoT tracking and monitoring solutions for logistics assets, to outfit their refrigerated trailer fleet with industry leading IoT devices that track and monitor cargo condition.

The GT Sense solution has gathered attention as it can provide information on whether the reefer is powered and what the internal temperature, humidity, light and barometric pressure is inside the cargo area. GT Sense devices also have wireless sensors that can be placed on the trailer walls, in pallet or at box level detecting many parameters even infrared proximity door open events.

"We are extremely pleased with the robustness of Globe Tracker's technology for our reefer trailers. The value it offers along with the visibility, cargo level sensors and alarms puts us at the leading edge of technology so we can compete against larger carriers," said Kirk Baker, V.P. of Southwest Dedicated Transport LLC.

"We are thrilled to have been chosen by Southwest Dedicated Transport for their temperature monitoring needs. Our solution incorporates the latest in IoT solutions that allows for robust wireless communications within the trailer. Southwest Dedicated Transport is an early adopter but we feel the value proposition is very strong for small to medium-sized carriers looking to adopt a high level of technology at very reasonable cost," noted John Harnett, Senior Director Marine and Intermodal Solutions at Globe Tracker.

This announcement is on the heels of several large shipping lines announcing their deployment of Globe Tracker's reefer solution for the maritime industry and shows Globe Tracker's strength in cold chain technology across multiple modes of transport.
