SSA Marine, one of the world’s leading independent marine terminal operators, today announced that it has won a 2025 SEAL Environmental Initiatives Award for its work to advance zero-emissions initiatives across its operations. The SEAL Awards honor sustainability, environmental achievement and leadership, while recognizing programs that drive progress in their industry.

SEAL’s recognition of SSA Marine reflects the company’s continued dedication to maintaining sustainable business practices through the testing and deployment of hybrid and zero-emissions cargo handling equipment at its terminals.

The company was recognized with the Environmental Initiatives Award in part for deploying over 190 units of near-zero and zero-emissions equipment across its operations, leading to reduced emissions, improved air quality and decreased energy consumption. These deployments have laid the groundwork for SSA Marine’s continued investment in zero-emissions and hybrid equipment in 2025 and future years.

Looking forward, SSA Marine remains focused on collaborating with port partners and original equipment manufacturers in the development and testing of new hybrid and battery-electric vehicles that can meet the stringent demands of a marine terminal environment.
