The team at transportation management provider Summit Expedited Logistics is excited to announce its newly scaled-up, high-tech space at 55 W. Monroe Street in downtown Chicago, Illinois.

At 550 feet above the city, the office’s location at Dearborn and Monroe is a summit of sorts itself, providing employees and visitors with a stunning view that includes Lake Michigan, Willis Tower and Chinatown.
According to Ray Fennelly, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Summit’s parent company, AIT Worldwide Logistics, the remodel puts Summit in an excellent position to continue to develop the team and improve client service and support.
“This is Summit’s ideal location,” he said, “But with the amount of growth we’re looking forward to, creating more room was a necessity.”
Summit, which also has offices in Itasca, Illinois and Torrance, California, as well as a remote workforce around the country, provides domestic ground freight support for customers in food and beverage, automotive and electronics, among many other industries.

“We serve organizations of all sizes, from smaller, local businesses to large enterprises,” said Summit Director, Ron Tessendorf. “The emerging companies really appreciate how we help them procure the way a large, multinational organization can.”

He added that he looks forward to hosting customers and vendors in the revamped space and believes the updates and building amenities—including walking-distance access to nearly all public modes of transit, on-site banking, a fitness center and shopping—will attract even more top-notch logistics talent to Summit’s roster.

Beyond more than doubling Summit’s space—to nearly 16,000 square feet—with additions like a new board room and private offices, the remodel also upgraded the group’s supporting technologies, enhancing business efficiency and ensuring consistent customer connection.
