The nation is becoming an increasing force in Asian-US commerce. Working in partnership with Sky Logistic Services, Target expects to become a growing participant in the expansion of this trade.”

Coppersmith said that Vietnamese apparel and textile plants, which didn’t exist just a few years ago, are becoming a rising factor in the export of these goods to the US. The nation also has assembly plants ringing the principal cities of Hochiminh and Hanoi that are churning out electronic and computer parts in increasing numbers,” he stated.

“The country’s leaders realize that foreign trade is a vital path to Vietnamese growth and prosperity.”

The CEO noted, “Target already has a commanding presence in Asia. We have offices in the principal commercial centers of China as well as in Singapore, Penang, Hong Kong and Manila with representation in Tokyo. Vietnam is a key building block in forging a complete Target supply chain network in Asia,” he added.

Coppersmith said that Sky Logistic Services now is being linked to Target’s worldwide IT system for instant tracking and retrieval. “They now are part of Target’s worldwide electronic network,” he concluded.
