The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) announced the two recipients of the 2022 TIA 3PL Congressional Leadership Awards. TIA is honored to present the awards to Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) for their indefatigable leadership in advancing the TIA supported, Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Pilot Program Act through the U.S. Senate.

Additionally, Senators Cornyn and Carper have been champions in Congress on addressing supply chain issues with industry stakeholders, like TIA members, to look for greater efficiencies, boost the nation’s economy, and alleviate marketplace disruptions that persist, in part due to the COVID pandemic.

TIA awards Members of Congress annually at our Policy Forum in Washington, D.C. with the distinguished 3PL Congressional Leadership Award. The recipients are chosen based on several factors, including advancing TIA’s legislative priorities, advancing our nation’s infrastructure projects and needs, and being a champion of transportation issues.

“TIA is honored to present the 2022 Awards to Senators Cornyn and Carper. As two of the lead sponsors of S. 2322, the C-TPAT Pilot Program Act, the Senators advanced a common-sense legislative solution that TIA has advocated for over 15 years. We appreciate their support and that of their staffs. We look forward to this legislation passing the House of Representatives before the end of the year and being sent to President Biden’s desk,” stated Chris Burroughs, Vice President of Government Affairs for TIA.
